Overview
WakeSharp is an alarm clock application for heavy sleepers, built by independent studio KineticBit Inc. and released for iOS and Android. Rather than letting a half-conscious swipe end the morning, it requires a completed mission before the alarm counts as dismissed, and then reports a daily measurement of how sharp the user actually woke up.
Key Features
- Mission-based dismissal: Alarms can demand arithmetic, memory puzzles, a repeat photograph of a spot chosen the night before, an object scan, counted steps, or a spoken answer, and several missions can be chained in a chosen order with automatic fallback when a sensor is unavailable.
- Alarm reliability verdict: A settings screen inspects permissions, alarm volume, lock-screen takeover and battery restrictions, then leads with a single verdict — it will ring, it may not, or it cannot — and openly admits where the platform provides no answer.
- Calendar-aware scheduling: Read-only, on-device calendar access lets an alarm shift when the first meeting shifts; shift rotations, profiles and a Today view cover non-weekly patterns, with a preview calendar before saving.
- Sharpness Score and warm-up: Three rotating mini-games generate a score out of 100 benchmarked against the user's own rolling baseline, feeding a streak, trend line and milestone history rather than a competitive leaderboard.
- Dual native builds: Separate SwiftUI and Kotlin/Compose codebases target each platform's alarm APIs, with watchOS and Wear OS companions that tap the wearer awake first and leave the phone alarm as a backup.
