Overview
CertWorthIt is a data-driven research site that measures how often employers actually name professional certifications in job advertisements. By pairing Adzuna job-ad counts with AI-assisted analysis, it produces per-certificate, per-role and per-country figures for candidates weighing whether a credential justifies its cost.
Key Features
- Job-ad frequency measurement: The site counts 362,748 job ads pulled from the Adzuna API across ten countries to establish how often an employer names a given credential. Coverage spans 78 certifications, from PMP and CompTIA A+ to OSCP and Databricks certification, and every figure links back to its source.
- Role and field breakdowns: Content is organised by field — cloud and DevOps, cybersecurity, data and analytics, IT support and networking, project management, AI, and agile and scrum — and by role, so a project manager sees PMP named in 24% of matching ads while a data analyst sees Google Data Analytics in 7 of 6,094 listings.
- Side-by-side comparisons: Dedicated comparison pages place competing credentials against each other, such as CAPM versus PMP, CCNA versus CCNP, and CISSP versus OSCP, showing the share of matching ads each one captures.
- Report generator and quiz: A four-question quiz starts from the reader's own job, while a report builder takes country, experience and goal as optional inputs and returns country-specific findings before any email address is requested. Reports can additionally be delivered by email alongside an optional monthly newsletter.
The site is published in seven languages, with an editor credited and an operator registered in Estonia, and it separates industry certifications from course certificates and plain skills within the same ad sets.
