## About Macy

## Overview

Macy is a personal artificial intelligence agent that operates entirely within Apple's iMessage platform. Instead of requiring a separate application, users interact with Macy as a contact who proactively monitors connected services — including Gmail, Calendar, WhatsApp, Slack, and over 500 other apps — and initiates conversations when events require attention. Currently available at no cost during early access, with a projected monthly fee of $19 after launch.

## Key Features

- **Proactive iMessage Agent**: Macy sends unscheduled texts for flight changes, price alerts, calendar updates, and other significant events. Users do not need to open a dashboard; the AI engages directly in the message thread.

- **Extensive App Integration**: The platform connects to more than 500 third-party services via standard APIs, including productivity tools (Gmail, Drive, Slack), messaging (WhatsApp), financial platforms (Robinhood), and travel services. All monitoring and actions are coordinated through a single iMessage conversation.

- **Approval-Based Actions**: Sensitive operations — such as placing a trade, sending a WhatsApp reply, or saving a document — require user confirmation via a simple "yes" text. Macy never executes without explicit consent, providing a safety gate between automation and autonomy.

- **Persistent Memory & Standing Orders**: Macy retains user preferences and past requests (e.g., preferred window seat, saved files) and can execute recurring rules — like monitoring a stock price or summarizing a group chat — without repeated setup. Background jobs run 24/7.
